Kate grew up in Lake Mills and Reedsburg, WI. She learned how to sew from her mother at a young age and also took classes through 4-H. Kate first came to Milwaukee to attend Cardinal Stritch University. Shortly after, she moved to Chicago. There, she found herself in the daily grind of a 9-5 office job that did not utilize her creativity. On weekends and late nights she slowly began to sew again. Kate explored the deconstruction of items bought at thrift stores. She moved back to Milwaukee where she resides today. Kate's biggest inspiration is her husband, but the beauty of nature comes pretty close. Whether from growing up in rural Wisconsin, biking to work along Lake Michigan, or camping up north, she is always inspired by the world around her.
